The main psychological characteristic of children aged 6 to 12 yrs is reasoned thinking; it is the moment when the mind moves to abstract thinking. Imagination takes on a broader dimension. The children regroup, they have a gregarious spirit.

Children acquire a moral and intellectual sense. "Help me think and understand for myself."

A child of this age is in full development of his social personality; they have a fundamental need to feel integrated and to socialise. They are able to work together in small groups and participate fully in the life of their community or class.

Also, their sphere of interests has expanded incredibly; it is the Universe.

Maria Montessori speaks of a «cosmic plan»: everything in the Universe contributes to the rest of the Universe; everything participates in the whole.

Cosmic education is all that interests the child. It is about allowing the child to discover and understand everything around them.

We will propose activities that develop a desire to search, encourage reasoning and help understand how things work. In cosmic education, any element that is conducive to feeding and triggering the child's creative processes will be used. To achieve this, we use specific material, stories, posters, experiments, short outings...

At the end of this period, the children have developed a basic intellectual structure. Their minds are capable of abstract thinking. They're efficient. They have confidence in themselves, they love to learn, they like to investigate and they are also very curious.

German courses are also provided from 5P (8 years), as mentioned in the PER («Plan d'Etudes  Roman»), as well as sports, art and music.
